URSAPHARM becomes partner of FIS Ski Jumping World Cup

Saarbrücken, 24 November 2023.  FIS is pleased to announce that URSAPHARM Arzneimittel GmbH and its premium brand HYLO® will join the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup family as its presenting partner through the 2023-2025 seasons.

The HYLO® product family is Germany’s market leader for eye drops and ointments to alleviate the symptoms of dry eyes. During the winter season, cold temperatures, draughts as well as warm, dry air indoors can be very demanding for our eyes. The partnership with HYLO® therefore is a very good match.

“URSAPHARM operates under the motto ‘Innovation is our vision’ and for FIS that says everything that this partnership will be built on,” said FIS Chief Commercial Director Christian Salomon. “Time and time again, Ski Jumping has proven itself to captivate audiences around the world as an individual and team sport combining skill, technique, and bravery. As one of the most traditional winter sports it thrives constantly for innovation such as better equipment, new records and locations, keeping it exciting for all generations of sports fans to enjoy.”

“Dry, irritated or watery eyes are something that many winter sports fans are certainly familiar with. With our HYLO® product family, we provide an effective and safe solution to relief such symptoms and protect the eyes,” said Christian Krensel, Global Director Marketing & Sales at URSAPHARM. “This long-term partnership with FIS is a very good way to reach a broad and international audience with this important message.”

The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was established in 1979, with the women their debut on the World Cup stage in 2011. The World Cup features a variety of events including the individual normal hill, individual large hill and mixed team events. Ski Jumping is the most geographically diverse of all of the FIS disciplines with regular competitions across central Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and North America.

The Ski Jumping season spans from November through the end of March and features approximately 40 competitions each season. Additionally, the sport features a summer series, known as the Summer Grand Prix, allowing athletes to train on the hills without snow during the late summer months. The current World Record jumping distance is held by Austrian Stefan Kraft, who went 253.5 metres on the Ski Flying hill in Vikersund (NOR).

Being a partner with German record football champion FC Bayern Munich since 2017, URSAPHARM has been no stranger to international sports engagements in the past. The company’s activities are rounded off by further football sponsorships as well as other engagements in areas such as tennis, badminton and motorsport.
